Hanoi Hanna is the first of its kind a Vietnamese fusion street food joint. We are a fast casual and cash-free business serving up banh mi, pho, bowls and more.
What is Viet street food?
Vietnamese “street food” is a concept that encompasses so many wonderful flavors we love from Viet cuisine and is a culinary journey every foodie should experience. It is a casual dining experience that has it all- cured and grilled meats, fresh and pickled veggies, wraps, dumplings and so much more. Some of our favorite dishes include Bánh Mì (sandwiches), Thịt Nướng (grilled meat skewers), Phở (rice noodle soup), Bánh xèo (savory coconut pancake), Bún bò Huế (rich and spicy noodle soup). We hope to share some of these flavors with you at our Viet street food concept.
What is Banh Mi?
One of the most popular items in Vietnamese street food, Bánh Mì, is a sandwich that consists of either grilled or cured meat, fresh and pickled veggies served on a Vietnamese-style french bread. Our version uses grilled meats in a lemongrass and fish sauce marinade to bring a perfect balance between citrusy and umami flavors in every bite. For our tofu version, we toss fried tofu pieces in our in-house sweet-heat honey sriracha that will make tofu your new favorite.
Why do we love it?
We love banh mi for the same reason we love any food. Cause it’s DELICIOUS. But we especially love it because of its blend of fresh, pickled and grilled flavors. That salt-fat- acid-heat combo. But also, we love the way it represents the rich history of Vietnamese resilience- a struggle food turned global superstar.
